Windows 10: I can't block an app from automatically downloading files

    I get a notification from an app that is automatically downloading files from OneDrive. I click on Cancel download > Block app option to prevent the app from downloading online-only files again in the future, but it doesn't work. When I open the app again, it starts automatically downloading files. In Settings > Privacy > Automatic file download, no blocked apps show up the "Allow" button is greyed out.

    OneDrive not blocking apps from downloading files with Files on Demand

    Hello

    To save space on laptop I use Files on Demand feature in OneDrive. But every time as I am running some other app, like backup software or some photoediting software like ACDSee, file what are on OneDrive cloud get downloaded. To stop this I try to block
    the app to stop automatic file downloads. The problem is the app is not getting blocked not from OneDrive Block App feature, name of the blocked app is not appearing in Settings>Privacy>Automatic file downloads blocked app list. Also changes in registry then
    changing HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Spftware\Policies\Microsoft\Cloudfiles\BlockedApps DWORD value Enabled data to 1 (0 is allowing) is not changing anything and the App still downloads files.

    Help! I can't block an app from automatically downloading files :)

    Automatic file downloads issue

    Hi,

    I have an issue with Automatic file downloads in windows 10. I am using onedrive as a cloud server, and enabled files on-demand option there. I do not want download files with apps, so when first time I get notification that file has been downloaded with app, I choose to block the app. But apps does not appear in blocked list under windows automatic file downloads section. And there is no such folder as "\Cloud Files\Blocked Apps" in registry editor in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Cloud Files\Blocked Apps. However apps are not allowed to open cloud files anymore. But after PC restart, apps can download files from the cloud again, and notification does not pop up anymore asking if I want to block this action.

    Is there any way to block apps from direct download cloud files from onedrive folder?
