    I can’t boot my windows 10 hard drive anymore.


    I think I’ve messed up. I don’t think I can boot windows anymore.

    So earlier I was trying to boot Linux from a usb and and all I did was flash the iso on to it.

    Then I booted from the usb like normal from bios. After messing around with Linux and creating persistent storage on another usb I shut my computer down. I took out both usbs and turned it back on so I could get on Windows, but it sent me to chose a keyboard layout and then it gave me more options. So I went to the boot sequence to boot windows but now all I see is UEFI: TOSHIBA MQ01ABD100 , partition 1.

    Did I accidentally wipe my hard drive and lose all my data? I’ve asked in the Linux subreddit and got some help but I figured the windows10 community would know about this too.

    I can also see that my drive might not be wiped because when I hit the System Image Recovery Option, then click to browse to add drivers, I see that my 1tb hard drive has 614GB free of 844. So maybe my files and all are still on there?

    To assist you better, please provide details.

    1) On which hard drive, you are trying to install Windows 10?

    2) What is the size of the drive, where you are trying to install Windows 10?

    I would suggest you to perform Check Disk on your hard drive and check if it helps.

    Follow the below steps:


    • Press Windows + X on your keyboard.

    • Select Command Prompt (Admin).

    • Type the below commands.



      Cskdsk [drive letter]: /f /r
