  1. I can't boot my windows after uninstalling Ubuntu and formatting second disk.

My computer keeps throwing me into the BIOS screen and won't boot up because it can't find a bootable device. Let me explain the story from the beginning:-I had a Samsung disk with Windows installed on it.-Then I installed Ubuntu alongside it as a dual boot.-Later, I bought a new Corsair disk.-I removed Windows from the old disk I think I made some mistakes at this point.-I installed Windows on the new disk. So, I had Windows on the new disk and Ubuntu on the old disk. I used it like this for a while.-Then I decided to remove Ubuntu and completely formatted my old disk.-After doing that, my

  2. Uninstall Ubuntu Dual boot and Repairing Dual Boot in Windows 10

    Hello.

I had dual-booted my Dell laptop which came with preinstalled Windows 10. I had dual booted with Ubuntu 16.04 by creating a partition on the disk. To remove this dual boot, i.e. I only wanted to keep Windows 10, I formatted the disk, drive F(in my case),
where Ubuntu was stored. But, now whenever I boot my system, a black grub screen comes with the following message:

"Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible command completions. Anywhere else TAB lists possible device completions.

    grub> _"

Upon writing 'exit', I am able to enter Windows.

    1. I wish to know the reason behind it and how it can be removed.

    2. I found this site, Uninstall Ubuntu Dual boot, I went ahead and performed all the steps. But somehow
    ended up with this error.

Also, I saw your reply on this thread Redirecting.
But it did not help me to remove my error. I will really appreciate your help in removing this error.

    Thank you.

How do I remove the Linux Boot Loader?

You don't actually uninstall a boot loader but replace it with another.

You cannot get Ubuntu to start on a Windows' boot loader, it needs to be GRUB (or an open source equivalent).

Any ways, to get the Windows' boot loader back up, you need to insert your WIN7 installer disk and select the repair option>startup repair. I am assuming the WIN7 will use a similar setup menu as VISTA.

Follow the guide here for step by step intructions: Fixing the Windows Bootloader via the setup DVD

After that, just format the partition/disk that ubuntu is on...

Formatting a dual boot system with windows 10 and ubuntu

    Hi,

In Windows 10, you can easily format a hard drive or a partition by accessing Computer Management. For us to assist you, we suggest that you follow the steps listed below:

    • Press the Start button.
    • Type Computer Management.
    • On the left side, click on Disk Management under Storage.
    • Locate the drive that you want to format.
    • Once located, right-click on the drive and choose Format.

If the hard drive has not been formatted with the steps that we have provided above, we recommend that you contact the manufacturer of your hard drive. Some hard drive requires a software that you'll need to use just to format it.

Let us know how it goes and if you need further assistance, feel free to post back.
