Windows 10: I can't burn anything...

Ever since I bought and installed Malwarebytes 4 on yesterday, I haven't been able to burn any CDs or DVDs. When I installed it, it broke Microsoft Word and I had to repair it within Windows 10. I kept getting burn failed errors in several burning software programs (such as Ashampoo and ImgBurn). I like using Ashampoo for burning music. And I use ImgBurn for DVDs. They both throw burning errors. Today, I tried uninstalling Malwarebytes 4 and rebooting the computer. Didn't help as the damage has already been done.

I have no idea how to fix this. I have a regular generic DVD+- R/RW CD R/RW burner and it doesn't have any issues reading DVDs and CDs. I can listen to CDs and watch movies just fine. Malwarebytes 4 broke something and I want to know what it is. Here are the errors I get in Ashampoo Burning Studio 22:

Burning Files To cdr

I tried to drag a .txt file to the burn list, as suggested above, but it will not drop in. I get a message "+add to burn list" but I cannot get it to drop into the burn list. Is there another step I am missing?

 

Files waiting to be burned on disk error

Hello,

As you want to remove the notification for "Files waiting to be burned", I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Open This PC.
• Navigate to the location: C:\Users\(Username)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Burn\Temporary Burn Folder
• Delete the files preset in the above location and check for status.

Note: This will delete the files which have been selected to burn on CD/DVD.

Burning photos to a CD Disc

Hi Jimmy,

We suggest that you use Windows Media Player to burn the images. Please follow the steps below:

• Open Windows Media Player.
• In the Player Library > Burn tab > select
  Burn options.
• Choose Audio CD or Data CD or DVD.
• Insert a blank disc into your CD or DVD burner. (Select the drive you want to use if your PC has more than one CD or DVD drive)
• Search for the items in your Player Library that you want to burn to the disc, and then drag them to the list pane (on the right side of the Player Library) to create a burn list.
• When you're finished with the list, select Start burn.

Note: If necessary, click the Clear list button to remove all items from the previous burn list.
