Windows 10: I can't change a pin and it says the pin is wrong... so I can't add a new account. Please help!

I am trying to add an account to a computer, but it keeps asking for the pin but tells me the pin is wrong, but won't let me change the pin,.... I am soo frustrated!

My Name is Paul one of the community experts and I do apologize that you are having issues changing your Microsoft Pin. There is a workaround for your to be able t o change it.

* Search Settings under start menu panel or (keyboard shortcut: Windows + I) > Accounts > Sign-in options.

* Click the Change button under PIN.

* Enter your current PIN; then, enter and confirm the new PIN underneath.

* Tap I forgot my PIN.

* Enter your Microsoft account password; then, set up the new Pin.

has anyone had where the pin they created doesn't t work and then it makes you restart your computer because you have used your wrong pin too many times? I selected the reset my pin and instead of going somewhere where you can do that it suggests a place
but when you go there-there is nowhere to even put a pin just change your password. Can you say frustrating...

Follow these steps to set up a PIN on your Windows User Account:

• 
  Press the Windows +S key combination to display the Search box.
  
• 
  Type the word pin into the Search box, then click
  Set up PIN sign-in.
  
• 
  Find the “PIN” section and click the Add button.
  
• 
  Type in the password for your User Account, then click the
  Ok button.
  
• 
  Select and enter a 4 digit numeric pin, then enter it again for confirmation.
  
• 
  Exit the PIN setup utility.
  

From now on you’ll be able to log in to your Windows account by entering your 4 digit PIN instead of your password.



You can change your PIN at any time by following the steps below:

• 
  Press the Windows +S key combination to display the Search box.
  
• 
  Type the word pin into the Search box, then click Set up PIN sign-in.
  
• 
  Find the “PIN” section and click the Change button.

  Enter your Windows password, then click the
