Windows 10: I can't change my display language back to english even though its the only installed...

I'm on Windows 10, and I've been learning japanese. So I tried to install a pack so i could type in japanese. This wouldn't work, so i got fed up an just deleted the japanese pack. Then I restarted My computer and everything is all of the sudden displaying in japanese. English is the only language pack i have installed, i've been using it for years and now i'm stuck trying to fix it while all of my settings are in a language i cant understand.


Does anybody know a way in which i can fix this? It doesn't make any sense to me that itsdisplaying a language i have deleted.


Pictures would be helpful too since I cant read any of this.


Edit: After restarting again a very few different things in my settings have been reverted to english, but almost none in language settings.

Updated Twitter app changed language. Unable to return to English

I used the previous version of the twitter app on windows 10 without problems. My preferred language was English and so was the interface. After updating to the new version of the app, the app now has an interface in Hebrew and displays from right to left. I've done all I could think of to change it back to English and left-to-right direction but nothing works.

• The language selected in the app Settings is English.
• The Windows 10 display language is English
• I uninstalled and reinstalled several times, both through Apps and Features and PowerShell. The newly installed app immediately logs into my twitter account. Since I completely removed the app from the pc, where does the app take that login info from? Are there settings files hidden somewhere that control the way the app behaves and even override the in-app language settings?
• I even searched the registry for my login info but didn't find anything meaningful.
• I also tried changing locale in windows itself. It too didn't work.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Original Title: Languaje stuck in Italian

Hello, sorry if this question was already answered (at least I was not able to find any other matching my case).

Here is my problem, I have installed windows 10 in my computer and accidentally changed that language to Italian (I was trying to only change the keyboard layout). Now, I cant change the language back to English because Windows is just ignoring it.

Absolutely nothing happens after I hit the download button for the language. I really do not wish to have to format windows (again) just because of a language pack, is there any other solution?

Recovering display language English

I am aware that this is a topic on different threads.

My laptop has windows 10 home build 1803 with English (US) as the default display language. Today I added French as the display language using the instructions on settings. It worked (though gave me grief as the keyboard layout changed from QWERTY to the
French equivalent (AZERY or equiv). The language was useful for an essay.

Now I want to go back to English: but cannot. Click: Settings, Time and Language, Region and Language, Display Language - English (US) - all is ok. BUT, the page does not hold English(US) and resets back to French. There is no "Select as default" key.
Restart doesn't help.

There is "Add another language" key and a list of languages but ENGLISH (US) is shaded out and cannot be selected. I have tried to load English (UK) but nothing happenend, even though it went through the motions.

If I click on Extra settings for date, time and region ("Parametres de date, d'heure et regionaux supplementaires) there are only subsets for time and region - not language (whereas on another computer there is a section on language).

Queries:

If Win 10 HOME does not allow alternative languages, why was the addition of French accepted - OR does it mean that I have changed languages not added another. There is only one language allowed and that now is French?

If so (ie only 1 language is allowable) , how can I change language back to English? [ Please note that + add a language did not work - see above]

Will system restore work?
