Windows 10: I cant change my password or remove it on my laptop even though its 100% correct but i can...

Hello , I tried changing / removing my password yesterday but it didnt work even though i accessed my laptop using that password.it mignt be because i had a windows hello pin and now its not available anymore and i tried finding the answer to my problem online but i cant find anything. I have windows 10 installed on my laptop and it might be a bug but i dont really know? i can do everything no problem but i do want to change my password because its been compromised. Thank oyu for the help in advance :.

Remove password

I suggest you to follow the below steps on how to make your Local Account as Administrator Account.

Method 1:

To remove password from the User Account :

• Press Windows + X key on the keyboard.
• Click on ‘Control panel’.
• Select ‘User account’. (On which you want to disable password)
• Click on Remove Passowrd and follow the instructions.

Method 2:

After removing password follow the below steps to disable password page from start up.

• Press ‘Windows + W’ key to search Apps.
• Type keyword “netplwiz” in the search box
• Open netplwiz window from search list.
• On the user accounts page, uncheck the option
  “Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer”
  and click OK.
• Restart the computer and check if it helps.
  

If you want to change the Administrator account follow the steps.

• Login into your current Administrator Account.
• Right click on Start button and select
  Control Panel.
• Select User Account.
• Select the option Manage another Account.
• Select the Local Account.
• Now select the option Change Account Type
  and select Administrator and click Change Account Type tab.

Unable to log into laptop after changing password.

We understand how difficult it could be and we appreciate the time and effort that you have taken to work this issue. However, in order to get clarity, we would need some more information regarding the issue.

1. Were you using the “Old email (account) address” regardless of not using laptop?
   
2. Are both the email addresses linked?
   
3. Could you please let us know, where exactly you get prompt for the password for the “Old email address” in the desktop?
   
4. What is the exact error message you get when you try to log in to laptop?
   
5. Does your desktop has two user profiles?
   

In the meantime, we would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and check.



You would need to have internet connection in laptop, so that the password change could get updated and it seems that the laptop is not connected to the internet, we would suggest you to connect Ethernet cable to laptop and then
try logging in to the laptop with the new password for the old email address.

Change password on windows 10

To change the password of the Local Account on Windows 10, follow the steps below:

• Press CTRL+Alt+Delete on your keyboard.
• Choose Change a password.
• Make sure to enter the correct old password before you can create your new password.
