Windows 10: I can't change my username in Windows 10

Hello. I just reset my PC and got a problem. My Windows is Windows Education one. I think that's why I can only log into my office 365 account.

I kind of remember how I changed my username last time I reset my PC. I opened command prompt, and then typed "net user administrator /active:yes", switched to the new account made, and then I could change my user folder name and stuff. But this time, I made accounts, but they don't show up on login screen so I can't even switch accounts.


I want to change my username showing up on login screen and user folder name. Please Help!

Are you logged in with the Microsoft account or a local account?

You can follow the steps below to change the username and check if it helps.

• Press Windows key + X key.
• Click on Control Panel.
• Under view, select large icons.
• Go to User Account.
• Click on Manage another account.
• Select the User Account for which you want to select the password.
• Click on Change the username.
• Click on Change Name button.
