Windows 10: I can't connect my Android phone to my Windows 11 PC to transfer photos

When I go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/sync-across-your-devices?r=1 and click on 1.Launch Phone Link, nothing happens. The PC doesn't open the link.I want to access photos on my Android phone from my PC.

No. That is totally unnecessary. @NavyLCDR in his post did not show all the steps. Here is what he left out...

Connect the phone to the PC with a USB cable
On the phone swipe down from the top to show notifications
Locate the USB notification and open it





In the USB settings make sure Transferring files is selected.





Look for your phone in File Explorer





If you you double-click on it and nothing is shown that means you forgot to unlock the phone's screen





After you unlock the phone's screen the phone's storage will be shown





Double-click on the storage will show the contents. The phone's photos and screenshots will be in the DCIM folder.

If you have the "Link to Windows" app on your phone then you should try the next step on your PC. Windows 10/11 come with a program called "Phone Link". It allows you to make a wireless connection between your phone and PC. There is no guarantee it will work with your phone but no harm in trying it. With it you can view your latest photos on your phone and just drag and drop them onto your PC. desktop.

Note Phone Link works great for the most recent photos and screenshots. However, to work with older photos it is easier to find them and copy them by connecting the phone and PC with a USB cable.

Here is Phone Link on my Windows 11 laptop. I can just drag and drop photos on my phone to my PCs desktop.
