Windows 10: I can't control my screen's brightness after the latest update

After the latest monthly update, I can't control the brightness of my screen in Windows 8.1.When I press the brightness control shortcut on my keyboard the control bar just pops up on the left side topbut nothing happens and when I drag the slider using the mouse the slider is moving but no change in the display brightness I have also tried adjusting it in settings and control panel but no change. My display brightness is stuck at 80 to 90% I can't use my pc in dark. Is there any fix for this.

Some computers can let Windows automatically adjust screen brightness based on the current lighting conditions.

To manually adjust the screen brightness, we suggest following these troubleshooting steps:

• Click Start, then select Settings.
• Choose System, then select Display.
• Under Brightness and color, move the Change brightness slider to adjust the brightness.

• Go back to Power Options, and tick on the High performance.
• See if you can adjust the brightness.

If this not work, we highly suggest that you create an Administrator account, and re-do the steps above.

• Click the Windows logo; then, search for Control Panel.
• Select Hardware and Sound.
• Choose Power Options.
• On the next screen you should see brightness slider at the bottom of the Control Panel window.
