Windows 10: i can't copy/paste hyperlinks

I Used to copy text with links. But now when I try, it copies only text, not the link. So Far Tried i Different browser edge, mozila and chromeii Disable all extension iii Tried in incognito mode iv No antivirus, did full scan for viruses No threats found v Cleared all browser cookies Seems like everyone else is working. So, definitely problem on my end. But Couldn't figure it out the problem. Its not the browser. Tried on edge and mozila all same. Even tried "Share, copy and paste" on/off didnt work It was good a week ago. Maybe 10th January i worked, it was fine.

That sounds like you copied the text Test and pasted the text, no implication of inserting a hyperlink and not much to do with IE.

To reproduce the issue

Open a new excel file with open calc from openoffice

Type text in one cell : test

save this file as test.ods (format openoffice)

add this hyperlink : Google

to last word : Test

Copy last word : Test, and paste it in a new message in livemail

In livemail check if hyperlink is on word "Test" ..... No, it has been stripped out !

Now dont 't waste more our time, and give solution. Also, as a microsoft client who pay its windows license, I expect a direct solution, not telling me to test some variants.. hope this is clear.

 

Hyperlink Not Working In Document, But Copy/Paste Into Browser Does

1 I subscribe automatically to the threads I respond to. Along the top of the webpage click on Settings





then click on My account, General settings





then choose the subscription type that you want





[I think this choice was made for my by default when I joined the forum]

2.1 In my email client [MS Office Outlook], I have set a rule that moves the notification emails [which contain thread titles only not the text of any threads] into a folder of their own so I can browse / search through old emails if I want to copy or refer to anything I have posted before.

2.2 I can also look at this again

click on Try3 / My profile then click on Find latest posts to see text as well. This list has a maximum of ten pages so, after a while, it will only have the most recent items.





3 I sometimes also print webpages to pdf using the built-in MS PDF printer and I keep a shortcut to the page as well. I use IE not Edge so it is then easy for me to move both the PDF and the shortcut into a File explorer folder appropriate to their subject matter.
