    Hello, i wanted to dual boot my Windows 10 Pro laptop with Windows 7. Earlier i wanted a better performance on my laptop because it was slow, so i searched up on youtube on how to dual boot, because i didn't want to affect/erase my mom's account. When i created a partition for windows 750GB i got a blue screen of death and when i booted the laptop again and my laptop's system was running on the partition i createdyet it wasn't Windows 7, it was still Windows 10, now i cannot delete the partition, i tried to set the main partition of my computer "Mark this as active", but it gave me blue sc

    Help with deleting a Windows 7 partition.

    Hey,

    So recently my boot decided to have the option between "Windows 7" and "Windows 7" on startup... The first one gives me an error, the second is my actual Windows 7 install.

    I need to know which to delete on this list, so that i don't have to watch my boot... haha.

    Create a new partition for Dual Boot OS ?

    Here's what I did:

    1. Create new partition
    2. Install Windows 7
    3. ????
    4. Profit!

    Microsoft will automatically detect that you have 2 OS and will ask you everytime you try to boot on which one to boot. One of my partition is factory setting Windows Vista, the other one is Windows 7.

    Damnit, I knew thats what you wanted with your first post! I deleted my post because JMCSLOB confused me lol.


    Hm, if you Follow this guide (Replace words "flash driive" with 160GB hard drive) How to Create a Bootable Windows 7 or Vista USB Drive: 3 Steps for both partitions and then to do a dummy install of windows 8 on the last part of the HDD it should give you the option to boot Windows 7/8 Installer or boot into windows 8.
    Edit: On step 4 you will want to make sure you size the partition correctly... or you can use the windows gui tool in control panel.


    Once you get that far you can just delete windows 8 from the boot menu using MSCONFIG and delete the partition.
