  1. I can't delete EFI partition from my D disk

recently I created a 100 GB partition in my D drive and installed Ubuntu on it. now I have deleted Ubuntu and want to merge the 100 GB with my remaining drive. but i can't do it because there is an EFI partition between them. i tried removing it from diskpart with delete partition override and I got this error "The operation is not supported by the object. The specified command or parameters are not supported on this system." also the EFI folder is empty now since I deleted the ubuntu boot files but still I cant delete it

    :)

  2. My EFI System and Recovery Partitions are on the wrong disk (Windows 10)

Please boot into WinRE and do the following:

    1. Delete the EFI partition on disk 0
    2. Re-run the bcdboot command suggested earlier. Be sure to use the correct drive letter. You can determine the OS partition's drive-letter by running diskpart & list volume commands.

    Edit:

"Volume Z" gave you two more options. If you don't mind having the EFI on disk 0, then all you need to do is delete the unwanted boot entries using msconfig.

OTOH, if you want to have the EFI partition on Disk 2, then delete the EFI partition on Disk 0 and run the bcdboot command.

My EFI System and Recovery Partitions are on the wrong disk (Windows 10)

Okay I figured out what I did wrong earlier and have done pretty much everything suggested. I deleted the extra boot entries in msconfig, properly ran the bcdboot command, and deleted the EFI partition on Disk 0 so the multiple OS options at startup are well and truly gone. So my Disk Management now looks like this:

I can't delete EFI partition from my D disk iyBMB7XvNWyRArIGNO%2FY64F8JSMpBaYxISFo%2BwaLAlWBR6NFlCS%2BPhma1m8OYUsZpkPWupUee7bjvKQwm%2BDy0%3D.jpg

Now I want the Recovery Partition on Disk 2 as well. Since my new EFI partition ended up taking the larger portion of unallocated space, I'm assuming I need to shrink the Primary Partition on Disk 2 so there's enough room for a new Recovery Partition? Sounds like around 500 MB should be enough for Recovery. How would I go about creating the Recovery Partition at that point? It seems more tricky than creating the EFI was.

I can't delete EFI partition from my D disk

How to delete extra empty EFI Partition on Windows 11

    Here is the screenshot

    • Disk 0 (Volume D) did not have the EFI partition prior to the installation.
    • I allocated 512GB for ubuntu on Disk 0 and installed from a bootable USB.
    • Then uninstalled by setting windows top of the boot order and deleting the partition which is now marked as unallocated. You can see now there is 511.50GB of unallocated space after freeing it, and another 513MB partition which I'm not able to delete.
    • Finally, I removed the ubuntu folder from the EFI partition on Disk 1 via powershell by mounting it and deleting the folder with rm
Ignore Disk E. That is my bootable flash drive. Ubuntu is not installed on the machine.

Mounting this partition and checking its contents shows that it is empty.

Mounting the EFI partition on the C drive shows the windows folders.
