Windows 10: I can't downlaod windows subsystem for android with amazon appstore, how can I fix this?

I'm having issues downloading this, and it isn't an issue that I can find a solution to. Please let me know what I can do to fix this.Thanks, Spencer Davis

Hello,

You can try manually installing Windows Subsystem for Android, then sideloading the Amazon Appstore/the App Store you'd like to use.

WARNING: This is an advanced process.

Step 1: Installing Windows Subsystem for Android

1. Head over to Microsoft Store - Generation Project (v1.2.3) [by @rgadguard & mkuba50]

2. Click the dropdown and change it to "ProductId", then type 9P3395VX91NR into the textbox and click the tick button.

3. Scroll down and click the link labelled MicrosoftCorporationII.WindowsSubsystemForAndroid_1.8.32837.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe.msixbundle.





4. Once downloaded, run PowerShell as administrator, navigate to the folder where you downloaded the file and then type Add-AppxPackage "MicrosoftCorporationII.WindowsSubsystemForAndroid_1.8.32837.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe.msixbundle".

5. You will see a little progress bar at the top. Just wait for a while and it should install.

6. Now, when you open Start, you will see the Windows Subsystem for Android app there.

Step 2: Installing the Amazon Appstore

1. Head over to https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools and download ADB.

2. Extract the zip file into a folder and copy the folder path.

3. Open the Command Prompt as Administrator and change the path to the path where you extracted the ADB to.

4. Open Windows Subsystem for Android and turn on Developer mode.

5. Copy the IP address that it shows on the app. If there is none, click the files button to start the emulator first.

6. On the Command Prompt, type adb connect [that IP address that you copied]

7. Head over to The Amazon App to download the Amazon Appstore.

8. After downloading, put the apk file into the same directory as the ADB directory for convenience, then type adb install Amazon_App.apk

9. After that, simply open Start and you'll see the Amazon Appstore listed there. You can open it and use it.

Windows Subsystem for Android toggle Wireless Debugging fails

The subject says it all. I'm trying to set up wireless debugging in order to work with the Windows Subsystem for Android. Can someone help me fix this?

Here are the steps I'm taking:

1. Install the Windows Subsystem for Android with Amazon Appstore (I've actually tried both installing the Appstore to get WSA and installing WSA to get the Appstore. At least 3 attempts with no success at this point.)
   
   1. Ensure Virtual Machine Platform is turned on.
      
   2. Ensure Windows hypervisor platform is turned on.
      
2. Open Windows Subsystem for Android Settings
   
3. Enable Developer Mode
   
4. Select "Manage Developer Settings"
   
5. I try two different things next with functionally the same result:
   
   1. Attempt to toggle "Wireless debugging"
      
   2. Click on the "Wireless debugging" text to go into the "Wireless debugging" submenu" and try to toggle "Wireless debugging" there.
      

What happens:

The toggle momentarily flashes to the on color and momentarily the toggles to the on position. Then the switch immediately switches back to the off position and off color. This is incredibly short. When first entering the wireless debugging submenu, the option will sometimes turn "on" just long enough to see a list of other pieces of information or options show up beneath it, but they quickly vanish. All other toggles in the developer settings work as intended. This is the only one that fails.

What I expect to happen:

I expect Wireless Debugging to be turned on and stay on so that I can use wireless debugging with the WSA.
