Windows 10: I CANT DOWNLOAD MUSIC FROM U TUBE TO MY WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER

HAVE ALWAYS DOWNLOADED MUSIC TO MY WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER FROM U TUBE AND NOW WHEN I TRY TO PLAY SOMETHING FROM WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER ITS TELLING ME THAT IT DOES NOT RECOGNISE THE SOURCE AND WHEN I ASK ABOUT IT YOU ARE SAYING THAT THERE IS NO INFORMATION AVAILABLE? I CAN SEE WHEN I GO ONTO U TUBE THAT ALL MY MUSIC IS STORED THERE ON WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER - HAVE EVEN TRIED TO PLAY WITH VCL BUT THAT IS STORED ON U TUBE ALSO BUT THAT DOESNT WORKED - THEY ARE BOTH LOCKED? CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT CODEC I NEED TO DOWNLOAD TO RECTIFY THIS PROBLEM PLEASE? I ALSO HAVE GROOVE ON MY COMPUTER BUT IT WONT PLAY ON THERE EITHER

USING WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER TO DOWNLOAD U TUBE VIDEOS

I wish to download some U Tube videos, using my Windows Media Player, but I am not sure how to go about doing it. Any suggestion? Please note that I have only Windows Media Player on my system, and not Windows Media Center. I understand that the Media
Center is different from the Media Player, and that it could download videos easily, but Microsoft includes only the Media Player in Windows 10. Thanks..Dennis E.

 

New Windows Media Player Plugin for Firefox

Anyone who uses Windows Vista and Mozilla Firefox may be pleased to hear that the Windows Media Player team has now released a plugin for Firefox that should allow the browser to play WMP content on websites. Here are the steps to get it working:

• Installation of the Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin may require administrative access to your PC. It is recommended that you close all other open browser windows before continuing with the installation.
• Click the Install button to automatically download and install the Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin.
• Depending on your security settings, you may see a Security Warning dialog box. Click Install to install the plugin.

There is a known issue if you are using Firefox version 2.0.0.3 on Windows Vista with the installer failing with error code -203. To work around this simply restart Firefox (you will get a notification that Windows Vista will be changing the Firefox compatibility settings) and then install again - the second time should succeed.

The download is available here, and the new plugin works on all versions of Windows XP and Windows Vista (although it is mostly intended for Vista, as that currently has no WMP support in Firefox).

Windows Media Player is listed in All apps > under alphabet W but not under Windows Accessories.
