Windows 10: I can't get internet after the cumulative update yesterday

I typically connect my windows pc with a local wifi router via the library. Yesterday, my win11 OS completed the standard cumulative update of april 2024 "Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems KB5036980. Immediately, the internet stopped working on my device. It shows a perfect internet connection but every internet enabled app, even games, will not access the internet. They popup with a message saying different things but usually they state that the internet has been blocked. I have tried resetting my computer, and a massive number of different fixes I

Internet connection gone after yesterday's update


Good morning tenforums,
this happens practically every time a windows 10 update is pushed onto my dell-pc. After I jiggle around with all sorts of things for days, internet is suddenly on again, no idea why. Quite time-consuming affair, and gets on my nerves as well. After the latest update yesterday: same story, no internet. Is there anything I could do to fix the problem this time once and for good? Would be grateful for suggestions!

KB4457426 Cumulative security update for Internet Explorer - Sept. 11

Windows 10 does not have such a thing as a 'Monthly Quality Rollup', but Windows 7 and 8.1 do, it's their equivalent of the Cumulative Update. This patch must be intended for W7/8.1, Windows 10 does not need (and probably will refuse to install) this update because these fixes should have been in the Cumulative update we've just had.

Please follow the methods to download the cumulative update.

Step 1: Open Internet Explorer (Don`t use other browsers)

Step 2: Go to Microsoft Update Catalog

Step 3: on the top right Search bar, Search "KB3189866"

Step 4: Download the one according to your version.

Step 5: Before the Download starts, it will ask you where to store it, you must remember where you will download it.

Step 6: After the Download has finished, Open the Folder and Run the Update, it will take around 5 minutes for the update to install.

Step 7: Restart your PC when the installation has completed.

You have successfully installed the cumulative update for version 1607.

Mr.ManviFTAI has posted THE best and fastest Answer. For those of you with the x64 version (64 bit Windows 10), the update at the top (431.1 MB) with x64 in the title is for you. The next one down is for Windows Server 2016. The last one (not marked with
an xanything) and 255.4 MB in size is the x32 version (32 bit Windows 10). I also strongly suggest you add the site to your Favorites Bar in your IE browser. There will be further need.
