Windows 10: I can't get past the Microsoft login page on my new computer...

When I start up my son's new computer, I enter his outlook address on the Sign In prompt and click Next. After that, I enter his outlook password in the Enter Password Prompt and click Sign In. It appears to be successful, but then it just takes me to the screen that shows the time and date. I wait and nothing further happens. Then I click a button, or the mouse pad or or swipe up on the touchscreen and it takes me back to the screen that shows his name with a prompt to sign in. I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to select the appropriate language in login screen at the bottom right corner and check if it helps.

Steps 2: Use On-screen keyboard in the login screen to login and check if it helps.

I suggest you to perform Safe Mode with Networking and then try to change the password.

Method 1: Safe mode.

Please follow below steps:

    Click on power button at left bottom corner, press and hold
    Shift key and click on Restart.
    
  • 
    Click on Troubleshoot.
    
  • 
    Click on Advanced options.
    
  • 
    Click on Startup Settings.
    
  • 
    Click on Restart.
    
  • 
    Login to Microsoft Account and create a new administrator account.
    

If you’re not able to login using Microsoft account then refer to below steps and check if it helps.

Method 2:
Activate Inbuilt Administrator Account.

Follow the below steps:

    Click on power button at left bottom corner, press and hold
    Shift key and click on Restart.

    Click on Troubleshoot.
    
  • 
    Click on Advanced options.
    
  • 
    Click on Command Prompt and enter following command.
    
    net user Administrator /active:yes
    

Now reboot your system and login to inbuilt admin account and try to reset password for other account. Once you reset password login to other account and to deactivate inbuilt admin account enter following command in elevated command prompt.

net user Administrator /active:no

Windows 10 Can't Login to Microsoft Account

Step 1:

I suggest you to try signing in to account.live.com on another device and verify the account is in a good state.

Step 2:

Login in to another user account and try logging in to Windows Store and check.

If the issue still persist, I suggest you to perform an automatic repair on your computer and check if it helps.

If you need an installation media, I suggest you to download and create the installation media using the follow Microsoft link, which contains the Windows 10 ISO file.

Method 1: Automatic Repair.

• • Insert the installation USB and boot Windows 10 from it.
  • In the ‘Windows setup’ page select the ‘language to install’, ‘Time and currency format’ and the ‘keyboard or input method’ and click on ‘next’.
  • Click on ‘Repair your computer’ and select ‘Troubleshoot’.
  • Click on ‘Advanced options’ and select ‘Automatic Repair’ and select the operating system.
