Windows 10: I can't install display drivers for NVIDIA card

I tried installing it from device manager as well as from the file downloaded from their official website. Event Log had two Errors regarding this.No.1:Log Name: Application Source: Application Error Date: 5/31/2021 8:49:12 PM Event ID: 1005 Task Category: 100 Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: DESKTOP-DSHQM9R Description: Windows cannot access the file C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\Drs\nvdrsdb0.bin for one of the following reasons: there is a problem with the network connection, the disk that the file is stored on, or

Can't install Latest Nvidia Driver

I didn't mention that nVidia's driver search offers 456.71 for the GT730, as you post. I checked that first.

I also checked the supported devices list.

I recognize the inconsistency. That's why I qualified my post. I can't recall a specific example, but I'm fairly sure that the nVidia servers have offered drivers in the past that were no longer supported on old cards. I have no direct knowledge whether that may be true here.

I'm unsure as to what drivers Windows Update provides for newer cards. I imagine they're newer than 388.13. That strongly suggests that the GT730 is not supported by recent drivers.

I suggest that "bug67" try the older drivers. If those work, that would suggest that there is no hardware issue.

If "bug67" wants the latest drivers, but the GT730 isn't supported, it may be possible to modify the installer to accept it. (Need a hobby?)

The error code indicates, "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)". We need to reinstall the device driver manually. I suggest you to refer the steps for
Code 28 mentioned in the article
Error codes in Device Manager in Windows and see if that helps.



You can try to run NVidia Auto-Detect and see if that helps you in installing the NVidia drivers. You can run NVidia Auto-Detect from
NVidia website. You can also check for the pending updates on the computer and install them. Please refer the section

If the issue persists, I suggest you to try the steps mentioned below to install the drivers:

1. Press Windows key + X and select
   Device Manager.
   
2. Right click on the NVidia driver and select
   Update Driver.
   
3. Click on Browser my computer for driver software.
   
4. Now, click on Let me pick from a list.
   
5. Select the NVidia MX250 driver and click on
   Next.
   
6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
   
7. Restart the computer once the driver is installed.
