Windows 10: I can’t log into my new Microsoft laptop or account trying to login for the first time and...

I can’t set up my new laptop as I’ve put in a Microsoft account. I’ve made one up. It says something went wrong and then it gives me the option to say whose computer I like logging into the next step and I do the same thing where I create the name the three different parts words and again it says oops something went wrong. I only bought this the other day. I can’t get into like the main so is turning it off on the keyboard. Is that okay?

Switching between user accounts on Windows10 to make a different Microsoft account the new login account

Hi everyone,

I have a new Microsoft account and want to change the account that I use to log into my Windows10 laptop to this new Microsoft account.

I already found a pretty neat explanation on how to add a new local account, log into a Microsoft account on that and then make it the primary login for the laptop in the following

closed thread.

However, I have a few further - probably stupid - questions:

• Will I still be able to log into my old user profile that I had with my old Microsoft account, after making the new one the login account?
• Do I understand it correctly that the old account will then be a local user account and I would still be able to log in and move files, for instance?
• Or should I rather save all files to an external hard drive from the old profile, create the new one, sign into the new Microsoft account on it, make it the primary login account and then add all files from the external hard drive (and delete the old profile)?
  - I was planning to back up files on OneDrive, in any case.
  

Any help is much appreciated!

Not able to login into LAPTOP with Windows 10 with Microsoft Account or PIN ( Have Reset Password Multiple Times )

I suggest you to perform Safe Mode with Networking and check if you’re able to login using your Microsoft account.

Method 1: Safe mode with Networking.

Please follow below steps:

• Click on power button at left bottom corner, press and hold Shift key and click on Restart.
• Click on Troubleshoot.
• Click on Advanced options.
• Click on Startup Settings.
• Click on Restart.
• Login to Microsoft Account and create a new administrator account.

If you’re not able to login using Microsoft account then refer to below steps and check if it helps.

Method 2:
Activate Inbuilt Administrator Account.

Follow the below steps:

• Click on power button at left bottom corner, press and hold Shift key and click on Restart.
• Click on Troubleshoot.
• Click on Advanced options.
• Click on Command Prompt and enter following command.

net user Administrator /active:yes

Now reboot your system and login to inbuilt admin account and try to reset password for other account. Once you reset password login to other account and to deactivate inbuilt admin account enter following command in elevated command prompt.

net user Administrator /active:no

Help Removing Microsoft Account login

I am not sure if you want to switch to a local account instead of your Microsoft account, or if you want to keep your Microsoft account but login automatically instead of having to type the password.
