    I received a zip folder which is supposed to be opened based on a password. It was sent by an insurance company in response to a mediation procedure. When I saved it on my desktop, it was automatically saved in Adobe Acrobat Reader. I tried to open it but every time, I get this message: "Adobe Acrobat Reader couldn't open the"...." because either it is not an accepted type of file, or the file was corrupt". The problem is that the other participants in the mediation proceedings can open the folder and I can't.I searched for fixes on the internet. I right-clicked on the folder and under "Proper

    Windows 10 Tweaks

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    I understand your concern, and we in Community will try to help you in the best possible way we can.

    I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.


    • Type Default programs
      in the search bar and press enter

    • Click on choose default programs by file type

    • Select .zip
      and select File Explorer
    Also you can visit the below link Zip and unzip files.
    (Steps applies to Windows 10).
