Windows 10: I can't open any mp4s without it giving me a "file error -2147416359" notification.

I've tried with every program now, and only Windows Media Player the one with the orange circle white triangle icon works. Everything else gives me the notification. I also am unable to click the option "Search with Microsoft Store" without the same notification popping up. This works with very recent recordings as well. I've tried dragging the file to my desktop and opening it through there, in case the folder was corrupted, but that didn't work either and the same notificaiton pops up. I've tried opening Microsoft Store through the search bar, and the loading icon pops up, but nothing open

Hello,

I am experiencing file system error (-2147416359) and unable to open any .jpg or .png files. I havent checked for videos yet.

I have tried running scan from command prompt. It fixed the corrupt files but did not help with this particular error. I also tried powershell, that also did not work. Please help. Thank you.

If you want to open File Explorer to your C: drive without any registry tweaks, you'll need to do so from a shortcut you create.

1. Open File Explorer to This PC.
2. Right-click Winndows (C and select Create Shortcut:
