Windows 10: I CANT OPEN MY E-MAILS, since my laptop did an update as I was shutting it down. HELP PLEASE.

I cant open ANY of my e-mails since laptop did its own update as I was shutting it down. Laptop told me ""dont shut down, updates loading, dont turn off, your console"", so I didn't. It all took about 1/2 an hour, {im not on laptop every day}, you can get annoyed if on it every day, also I have mental health issues. My late husband was teaching me laptop, but he died on 10/4/17 of brain cancer. So I dont really know what im doing. I only know that before updates, I could open my e-mails, and now I cant. help me please. Ive ticked install and download, because without picking something, I cant submit this, please help me.

As an initial step, I suggest you to check for any pending updates in Windows. Follow the below steps;

• Press Windows key+ I to open the
  Settings.
• 
  Click on Update & security, then click on
  Windows Update.
  
• 
  Select Check for updates. If Windows Update says that your PC is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

 

Block e-mails

to block the senders please follow these steps

open the message you want to block.

Add the sender to the blocked senders list.

In Windows Live Mail, choose Actions→Junk E-Mail→Add Sender to Blocked Senders List.

In Windows Mail, choose Message→Junk E-Mail→Add Sender to Blocked Senders List.

In Outlook Express, choose Message→Block Sender.

Click the Yes button or click OK.
