    I can't open Security Center and Windows Defender


    Hi team, hi mates


    I have a problem. I can't open Security Center and Windows Defender. Windows Firewall, at first, is ok.


    Three days ago I formatted my computer and I install Windows Enterprise 10. Everything is fine but, suddenly, I lost the control of the computer. The session closed and reopen in Safe Mode. Probably was a virus or something like that. Ok. I use Malware and recover the computer.


    After I checked Windows Defender and It doesn´t work. It's blocked. I tested all the tips in the net:


    - Updates

    - Regedit.

    - Change hour

    - Services.smc all is denied access

    - DISM.

    - Check Disk.

    - New installation

    - DNS...


    Everything. Only I can recover Firewall. I'm using Malwarebytes.


    I formatted three times the computer. Three times. And in a final moment of install any aplicattion the problem always arrives.


    I don't know what I can do. The computer is ok apparently, maybe using more resources but I don't know exactly.

    windows defender & security center services keep turning off


    Are you running any other AV or did you have one running in the past? If you didn't use an uninstaller for the AV, then the remnants of it could be causing the problem. Normally any time you install an AV it disables Defender by default.

    If you are getting any error codes please list those, that will be helpful in helping you.

    As torre suggested, might be a good idea to do a reset or even a reinstall.

    Open Windows Defender Security Center in Windows 10  


    I noticed tonight that windows defender or the windows defender security center both are not in my all apps list. When I start ms services it shows that defender is running. I just can't seem to open the security center. When I try to via the settings window, nothing at all happens. No error message, nothing. I rebooted and still nothing.

    My calculator and photo viewer also quit opening but right now I'm more concerned about windows defender since I don't have an alternate av on my system.

    Windows Defender Security Center Won't Stay Open

    When I open Windows Defender Security Center, it opens and then closes itself.

    I’m running Windows 10 Home, v1703, with the latest updates.

    I run Norton Security as my primary AV & firewall with the latest updates.

    I did a system reset in the last couple of months.

    Defender seems to be functioning, but generating the following errors:

    I have tried options 3 and 5 in this tutorial: Turn On or Off Windows Defender Real-time Protection in Windows 10. Options 1 and 2 aren’t available to me since the settings window won’t stay open. Option 4 isn’t available for Windows Home.

    As I said above, AFAICT, Defender seems to be working, but the Defender Security window won’t stay open and it’s generating a lot of errors.

    Any suggestions for troubleshooting and/or fixing this issue?
