Windows 10: i cant play with my friends in minecraft bedrock/windows

i have minecraft for windows and my friend plays on xbox. when i open the game it says i have no friends and everytime i open it tells me to sign in but still show 0 friends that are playing even when shes playing. i have re-added her multiple times and nothing changes and through the xbox app i am still unable to join her and vice versa. we are both able to play multiplayer and we have before with other people but cant with each other. i have signed in and out multiple times as well.

Minecraft Bedrock

Is there anyway I can get Minecraft bedrock now, I didn't know what minecraft bedrock was up until recently and I want to get it to play with friends but I don't know how because its after April 20th

Minecraft Bedrock is only allowing my friends to see my chat messages.

I have Bedrock edition too, and there is really no way to add random people unless you have their exact Username. I guess you could go on Social media and ask people for a Minecraft Bedrock username to add...

*I'm not actually sure if any of this is true, I don't try to add random people to my friend list*
