Windows 10: I can't press a button on my keyboard more than one time in a row.

I know this likely sounds confusing, but if I try to backspace twice, I can't. If i try to press the letter 'c' multiple times in a row, it stops me after the first 'c'. Similarly, I can't do two spaces in a row without pressing another button first. This just started today. Why is this happening, and is there a way to fix it?

1. What do you mean by "top row not working" not working? Are you referring to keyboard top row keys?

I would suggest you to go to the safe mode and see if the problem persists.

To go to Safe mode follow the steps below:

• 
  Click on Windows key, and in the Power Options click on Restart while pressing the shift key.
  
• 
  A blue screen will appear with a few options.
  
  Click on Troubleshoot > Advanced Settings > Startup Settings > Restart.
  
• 
  Your system will automatically restart, press 4 or F4 key to go to the Safe Mode.

Microsoft wired Keyboard 600 keeps connecting and disconnecting each time I press a button.

Method 1: I suggest you to run System File Checker, which will check your system for missing, corrupt or damaged files and attempt to fix them.

Method 2:

DISM:

If no corrupted system files were found in the previous state, then I suggest you to try the following steps:

• 
  Open command prompt by pressing Windows key + X and selecting “Command prompt admin”.
  
• 
  In command prompt, type the following commands and press Enter after each command:
  
  DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
  
  DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
  

• 
  Close the command prompt and restart the PC and check if it works.
