Windows 10: I can't remember my old password.. what should I do know?

Email clients not remembering passwords

Hi all

A friends computer will not remember his gmail password. He used to use outlook, and seeing that I use thunderbird and it would be easier to troubleshoot I installed that for him. Now that was working for a few weeks, and now the same problem is occuring.

We are 100% sure the password is correct, as we can access the email account through webmail, but the local clients will not remember the correct password. Of course the 'Remember password' button is checked, but still no good.

It returns with incorrect password.

Any suggestions?

 

Cannot remember old password

just got 10 upgrade turned on cortana but couldn't remember old password set up new password but got message saying to say goodbye to old password re enter it

if i knew old password id have used it what can i do

If it’s a Microsoft account please follow the below steps follow the steps.

          https://www.mail.live.com
          using your Microsoft account credentials.
          
        • 
          Reset the password of the account which is not been recognized in your system.
          
        • 
          Use the reset password credential and try logging in.
          
        • 
          Check if it resolves the issue.
          

If it’s not a Microsoft account Login to your Administrator account and reset the password of the account which is not been recognized.
