Windows 10: I can't reset my computer pin. It keeps saying I need internet, even when I'm connected....

After I put my bitlocker recovery key in I was prompted to reset my pin. It says there was a change in the security settings and now I need to reset my pin. I need internet to do so., and even when I am connected to the internet, or a hot spot the I'm getting a prompt to check my connection. I have Nord VPN and it has the auto kill switch if the VPN is disconnected. I'm worried that nord is blocking my connection and since I can't get in to connect it I won't be able to reset my pin. I'm not sure if that is the problem. Any suggestions on how to get a good connection and reset the pin? Also,

Computer says not connected to Internet even after connected to Internet

I understand that applications show that you are not connected to Internet. I’ll certainly help you with this issue.



However, please let us know:

• How is the computer connected to Internet i.e. Ethernet or Wi-Fi?
  
• Are you aware of any changes made on the computer prior to this issue?
  
• Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? To check type:
  winver in the search bar on the Taskbar and hit
  Enter.
  

I would suggest you to try changing the network connection i.e. if the computer is connected to Internet through Wi-Fi, try using Ethernet and check if that helps.

There are a lot of possible reasons why your internet connection keeps on disrupting. It is possible that your
drivers are outdated, TCP/IP
needs to be reset/reconfigure, or the issue is within your internet connection itself. We suggest that you perform these
methods of troubleshooting and let us know if you notice any changes:

Method 1: Network and Internet Troubleshooter.

To run the troubleshooter, follow these steps:

• 
  On the search bar, type
  Troubleshooting
  and hit
  Enter.
  
• 
  Choose
  Network and Internet.
  
• 
  Run
  the following
  Troubleshooter:
  
  • 
    Internet Connections
    
  • 
    Network Adapter
    
  • 
    Incoming Connections
    

Method 2: Reset TCP/IP

To do this, follow these steps:

• 
  Run
  Command Prompt
  as
  Administrator.
  
• 
  Run
  this command:

    netsh
    int
    ip reset
    and hit
    Enter.
    

Exit
Command Prompt
and
monitor your
WiFi connection.

Method 3: Reconfigure TCP/IP

To do this, follow these steps:

Connecting computer with no internet connection to network printer

1. Open Admin command and type: ipconfig
   
   
   
2. Win+X->Control Panel->Netwok and Sharing Center
   Follow the screen shot. This should disable internet access from this PC but allows access to local device(s)
   NOTE: Use the IP & Subnet Mask from step 1. Leave Default gateway & DNS Server blank
