Windows 10: I can't revert back to Windows 7 due to an infinite boot loop.

I've had this problem for a while and I've recently with help of someone else, been able to get to the login screen and acutally log in by booting through a USB. But then when I try to revert, it restarts and when it reboots. It get's locked in a screen that has a blue Windows logo and a black screen with nothing else. Please help, because I'm worried I won't find a solution to this in time for me to revert because I only have a month. *Shock

Infinite Loop of "Restoring to your previous version of Windows" Screen - Surface Pro 3

I'm having the same issue with the infinite loops trying to revert back to windows 7.

I upgraded to win10 3 days ago and all was well until yesterday I got a red screen. I restarted and then got the blue utility screens saying windows could not restart due to a crash. I tried several reboots, safe mode, restore points, and nothing would
boot back into windows. So last resort was restore to prior version and here I stay in loop purgatory. Sucks, my vacation started today and the last thing I want to do is burn hours troubleshooting windows…

 

Windows 7 upgrade to 10 failed and infinite boot loop

Windows 10 infinite boot loop after failing to upgrade from 7.

Failed at around 30% and is trying to revert OS.

It's been infinite rebooting for around an hour now.

Going through the same screens:

- Boot screen

- (Flickers through 2 different screens really fast, one is the the F8 screen)

- Windows is loading files...

- (spinny ball)

- (flashes what looks to be a cmd window)

- Attempting to recover installation...

- Restoring your previous version of Windows...

-> (Loops)

Turn on your computer and keep tapping the F12 key. Hopefully you can do a system reset from there. Download your computer manually. It will tell you what function key to tap for system restore.

 

It's unlikely that F12 is going to provide any restore option, as that generally only allows you to select a boot device.

If you have Win10 install media (USDB or DVD) you could try booting from that and doing Startup Repair -- you might have to do this several times. If that works, you could then try the GoBack option to see if that will revert your machine.
