Windows 10: I can't see characters anymore on my PC

Hi,I just opened my PC today and all the windows settings, some apps like notepad and others do not show letters anymore, but only dots. I have not updated since yesterday and it was working fine yesterday. What can I do to fix this? I do not know if the picture is able to be inserted keeps telling me it failed to upload.I can kind of get around my PC, but have no way of knowing for sure what I am clicking when on certain apps. Others like Discord and Outlook works just fine.Can anyone help me with this?

"Chinese Characters" program delaying shutdown - a different approach.

• As you have mentioned this happens only in the Admin account, is it local account set as admin account or the Microsoft account?

I would suggest you to check the all apps list and check if that Chinese character app is present.

After you try the above steps and share us the results what happens we can proceed with the further suggestions.

1. Did you make any changes to the PC prior to this issue?
2. Does this issue occur on Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, or any other browser?
3. Once the text disappears, are you able to undo that by press the 'Ctrl' key and the 'Z' key from your keyboard?

Meanwhile, try the below troubleshooting steps:

Method 1: Check if your Windows is Up-to-date.

Go to Settings > Update and Security >
Windows Updates and install all the Windows Updates if there are any.

Method 2: Use a different browser

Use a different browser to access Gmail and see if you are facing the same issue.

Method 3: Adding the characters manually from Character Map.

Step 1: Click on the
Start Menu and search for Character Map and hit
Enter.

Step 2: Once the
Character Map launches, look for the character that you want to add >
Select that character and click on Copy.

Step 3: Go to the email that
you want to add the character and paste the character by pressing the ‘Windows’ key and the ‘V’ key from your keyboard and see if the characters are disappearing.

How to move your Minecraft Dungeons Character from PC to PC

Want to move your Minecraft Dungeons character(s) to another PC. This is how! (Only for PC).

Step One: Create a shortcut to your Minecraft Character(s). This is where it gets saved:

C:\Users\(your account)\Saved Games\Mojang Studios\Dungeons\(long number folder)\Characters

Step Two: Go into this folder. Your character is a dat file. Yes, the lengthy alpha numeric is your character data. Pay attention to the date/time stamp. That is when you last played that character if you have multiple characters. Save that file and
back it up somewhere. (Optional: You can change the name to the dat file to something easier to remember like an actual Character name. For example, Mando, Slash, or Fluffy Cat. Try it, but make sure you make a back up of the original file.)

Step Three: You can now go to any other PC and paste that character to the folder in Step One assuming you have that game on the other PC even if it belongs to someone else's account.

Step Four (optional): This game can sometimes glitch by opening two Minecraft Dungeon games at the same time. (More like human error. Sometimes you try to open the game and it's taking a while, then you click on the game again). Always make sure only
one game is open when playing. You don't want to be leveling up thinking your character is saved then closing out the game. You then notice another MC Dungeon was open and when you press any button, your character did not save where you thought you left
off. Then that character overwrites what you just did. My suggestion is to ALWAYS back up your character dat file in case your PC crashes.
