Windows 10: I can't see some thumbnails in my folders

Hi, i have had this problem for years now and in different computers. I already searched on here and google to find a viable fix but nothing i have done it have worked until now.

So, the problem is that i have a lot of pictures than aren't being shown as thumbnails, but as icons.

I already made all the possible fixes. Like ticking the option in the folder options, etc. but still some thumbnails are being shown and some others don't.

As you see in the pic, you can see some, and you cant see others.

Many thanks for you reply. I have done all the steps you suggested, but no change,

When I open a folder containing photos, some open correctly but the vast majority open with thumbnails, but they very quickly get overwritten and you can not longer see the thumbnails.

Are there any more suggestions?

 

Windows 10 showing device icons instead of thumbnails in folders

There's a possibility that some folder settings may have changed. It could be set to show icons and not thumbnails. To verify that, please follow the steps below:

• Open the File Explorer.
• Click the View tab.
• On the upper-right corner, click Options.
• On the Folder Options, click the View tab.
• Under Files and Folders, uncheck Always show icons, never thumbnails.
• Click Apply, then OK.

Once done, try checking if the folder icons are already showing thumbnails.

  When you say "the thumbnails are just icons", is that on a local account or the Microsoft account?

  Do you have the latest version of ProRes or iTunes installed on the pc?
  

I suggest you to follow the steps below and verify the result.

  Go to file explorer and clock on view.

  Select Options and Go to View.
  
• 
  Under Files and folders uncheck the box always show icon, never thumbnails.
