Windows 10: I cant seem to login normally into my local user account

It just disappeared after a windows update and i cant get it to reappear. I have a temporary fix for it by using the "other user" login field but i have to use my microsoft accounts info to log in. Any idea on how to fix this?

Local Account password changed to Online Account Password

Hi,

I suggest you to follow the steps on how to switch from Microsoft account to Local account:

• Click on search in taskbar and type account.
• Click on Accounts.
• Now, under Your account, click on Sign in with Local account instead.
• Enter your Microsoft account password for confirmation and then follow the screen instruction.
• Enter User name credentials for your the Local account and click OK.
• Now, login to Local account.

Local user disappeared frin login options after upgrade

Hi Zoee,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I was unable to fix the issue. Here are my steps:

• I've uninstalled the last 3 updates (the ones from september):
  
  • however, they keep getting reinstalled:
    

• I've added two new users: one from the GUI, the other as you suggested in step 2:
  
  • They are listed under users;
    
• I've also booted in safe mode just to check.
  

I still have no way to login other than with the main account. No local users are available at login or when I go to start menu and click on my user.

Please advise
