Monitor is detected but display resolution is not correct

    One of two possibilities:

    1. Driver is still not correct, as you don't have the listed resolution to go to recommended for that monitor. If it is using a driver win 10 installed and not the manufacturer, then you need to try the manufacturer driver, list the display driver from device manager and we can go from there.

    2. Card in PC (Is it a card, or integrated mainboard graphics?) doesn't support that resolution, hence driver not listing it, etc.

Other possibility - what does the system show for the monitor listed in device manager?

Windows 10 Update Messed Up my Screen Resolution Settings - Why Were The Correct Settings Kicked Out?

    Hi

    Please re-read my post.

The highest resolution available is 1920 x 1080.

My screens are much higher HD screens. These were correct before the Win 10 Update....which changed these settings.

How do I get the higher settings?

    UPDATE

    Shame Faced......

I just discovered that the NVidia [graphics card settings] has a control panel which separates TV Resolutions and Monitor Resolutions.

The latter list is found by scrolling BELOW the TV Resolution lists - there contains another list of the required correct resolution for my HD Monitors.

I have now been able to select 2560 x 1440 - which is perfect.

Thanks for your suggestion. Apologies for the grivel!

How do you resize a secondary monitor for lining up?

    Hello,Lemon Kluver

Thank you for reaching out with your question about resizing a secondary monitor in Windows 11. I understand the importance of having your monitors properly lined up for an optimal display experience. To provide you with the most accurate guidance, I'd like to gather some additional information:

    1. Could you please clarify the specific issue you're facing with resizing the secondary monitor? Is it that the secondary monitor's resolution is not being detected correctly, or is it a positioning issue with aligning the monitors side by side?
    2. Have you installed the latest graphics drivers for your system and monitor?
    3. What type of connection are you using to connect the secondary monitor (e.g., HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA, etc.)?
    4. Can you confirm the make and model of the secondary monitor?
    5. Have you checked the display settings in Windows 11 to ensure they are correctly detecting and identifying the secondary monitor?
Additionally, please let me know if you have tried any specific troubleshooting steps or adjustments so far. Any details you can provide about the current setup, such as the resolution settings and how the monitors are currently positioned, will be helpful in understanding the issue.

Once I have this information, I'll be able to offer you more targeted instructions to properly resize and line up your secondary monitor in Windows 11.

Looking forward to your response so that I can assist you further.

    Best regards,
