This is a repost because nobody helped me on my previous post. I am now offering the gold award to someone that gives me a solution that works

A little bit of background: Whenever I don’t need to bring my laptop anywhere, I take out the battery and leave it on the charger. With all of the stuff going on these days I won’t need to bring my laptop anywhere for a while so it has its own setup on my desk with the charger going from the wall, behind my desk, and up the back for easier access.

    (TL;DR at bottom)
It was the end of the day, I finished what I needed to finish on my computer and closed everything to get it ready for a good night’s sleep. I go over to the little windows icon at the bottom left of the screen, click that, go to the power icon, click that too, and finally I click the shut down button. I wait for a couple seconds and the screen finally goes black but the computer is still on, I wait a couple more minutes and nothing changes. I decide to brush my teeth instead of sitting and waiting. So I get up but since it’s dark I can barely see anything with only a small lamp by my bathroom lighting my way. As I’m walking, I take a step and feel something catch my foot but then quickly release. I turn on my phone flashlight (should have done that earlier) to see what it was. It was my laptop charger. I look back and my laptop is completely off, I thought nothing of it so I just continue with what I was going to do and then go to sleep. I wake up, continue with my daily schedule, and when it comes time to use my computer I turn it on. I wait for the sign in screen to pop up, when it does I sign in. I wait for my home screen to pop up, and when it doesn’t a blue error message pops up. I tried signing out and signing back in, restarting my laptop and signing back in, I did some research and found a way that looked promising , I tried that and still got nothing. Thank you in advance for your help.

TL;DR: Laptop was shutting off, I disconnected the charger which cut the power. In the morning I try signing in and got an error message. I tried signing out and then in, restarting and signing in, even this option I found but I still have no luck.

  2. Switch laptop sign in from MS account to Local Account questions

Hi, Ive just switched from signing in to my laptop with a Microsoft Account to signing in with a Local Account instead. My laptop was always listed as a Device on the opening screen along with a map showing its location when I looked in my Microsoft Account. Under Devices I could also view my laptop along with other bits of various information about the device and its location was always shown on a map there too. After signing into my laptop with my Local Account ..If I sign in separately to my Microsoft Account afterwards Ive just noticed that having switched to a Local Account my laptop isnt shown on the opening Microsoft Account screen anymore and its not listed in devices either. Is this normal behaviour? I was expecting to still find my laptop listed in Devices. Also...Under Update and Security/Activation..it used to say Digital Licence linked to a Microsoft Account. Now it just says Windows is Activated with a digital licence. Is all this normal behaviour if you sign into a laptop with a Local Account instead of a Microsoft Account?

Your Microsoft account needs you to sign in again-recent credentials

Yes the correct or current info is in the Settings/Accounts/Your email and accounts.
The steps in the tutorial included signing in after deleting a listing. I couldn't see where that was relevant since its a second listing. It looks like I have to voluntarily do the 'sign in' so I can avoid doing that. I'm locked out for 30 days anyway.
Perhaps its time to set up a stand alone user account in that laptop <grin> Too nerve wracking dealing with this MSAccount.
