Windows 10: I cant type in any search bar

I have a MacBook pro-2017 13 inch boot camped to windows 10latest available version. The keyboard works fine when I'm in apple OS but in Windows I can't type in specific areas such as the search bar in the taskbar, the windows store search bar, sign in to Microsoft Store or Xbox app, etc. I can't even sign in to the Roblox appfrom windows store as i cant type there either.


I have tried asking other people to take remote control through zoom but even they cant type in these fields and the on-screen keyboard doesn't do the trick either.

But wait it gets even more confusing as I can type in applications such as Edge, chrome, Zoom, and file explorer search areas.


I can copy-paste things into search areas by right-clicking only. Shortcuts don't seem to have an effect directly and I cant right-click in the password field if I'm in applications such as this.

I have tried looking through other questions yet they don't seem to have the same problem and the solutions offered don't seem to work for me either.

If you meant the Cortana search bar, review the suggested solutions on these threads:

• Can't type in Windows 10 search bar.
• Can't type anything in Win 10 Apps (Cortana, Search, Calculator, Feedback, etc.)

Search bar stuck while trying to type in the search bar

We would like to know more information regarding your concern so that we will know why the search bar is not working. Have you recently made any changes/updates prior to this issue?

Did you run the troubleshooter to rebuild the indexing? If not, I would suggest that you run the troubleshooter to fix common indexing issue. You can run the troubleshooter by performing these steps:

• Press the Windows key on your keyboard and type
  Troubleshoot.
• Choose Troubleshoot in the results.
• Under Find and fix other problems highlight
  Search and Indexing then click Run the troubleshooter.

IE11 Google Toolbar no auto search suggestions, no search history?

Since the last Win 10 update my Google Toolbar won't list any search suggestions as I type and there is no search history listed. The Google tool bar will allow a search, but after a few searches no search history shows and no "clear search" button is listed either.

I have turnd on "Suggest searches as you type", and "store search histroy on my computer" in the Google Toolbar options.

Any suggestions to fix this?
