Windows 10: i cant type on keyboard it's not working now i can't enter a new name on start up it...

I reformat my laptop while it says 100% because i thought it will solve the problem because i cant type on keyboard it's not working now i can't enter a new name on start up it doesn't type even if i use screen keyboard what should i do?

keyboard does not work in search, can't type in windows search box.

If you already used your keyboard on different devices and the same issue happened, then basically, the main issue here is the keyboard itself. There's a possibility that the keyboard is defective or it has a bad driver.

We suggest that you try these steps and see if it helps:

Step 1: File Signature Verification Tool.

• Press Windows key + R to open the run command.l
• Type sigverif.exe and press enter.
• Check if you see a list of unsigned drivers.

Step 2: Scan for hardware changes.

• Press Windows key + R to open the run command.
• Type devmgmt.msc and press enter.
• Expand computer and highlight the extension.
• There will be an icon to scan for hardware changes right below
  help.

Step 3: Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter.

• Press the Windows + X, and click on Search.
• Type troubleshooting and select Troubleshooting.
• Click on Hardware and Sound and select Hardware and Devices.
  
• Click on Next to run the troubleshooter.

Step 4: Update keyboard driver.

• Click the Start button and enter Windows Update.
• In the left pane, click on Check for Updates.
• On the Select the updates you want to install page, select the drivers you want to install.
  

Once done, check if the same issue persists and try using different keyboard on the same PC you used. If everything works fine using a different keyboard, it means that the first keyboard is defective.

Any suggestion how to remap keyboard [Enter] > [Shift-Enter]?

I've used SharpKeys successfully to remap keys. - I remapped Delete key to the Insert key when the former was defective - On another computer, I remapped t to ` [again because a key was not working correctly] You would remap Shift-Enter to Enter

You can select keys from the list or, as illustrated here, you can select Type key and press the key / key combination you want. But you do realise that you'll lose the ability to press Enter? - You don't say why you want to do this so I can only guess that the 'normal' Enter function would sometimes be needed. - You could also remap Enter to Shift-Enter so you would still have the function available for use. Touch keyboard not working

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community.

Please confirm the following things for me.

1. May I know the make and model of your system?
   
2. Was there any major change on your system prior to which you were able to use the touch keyboard without any issues?
   

I would suggest you to check with the services again, there are a few dependency services that will need to be checked. Please follow the steps below.

1. Press the ‘Windows’ key and ‘R’ key together, this will open the ‘Run’ dialogue box.
   
2. Type in ‘services.msc’ and press enter. This will open the ‘Services’ panel, in the list of services, find ‘Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service’.
   
3. Right-click and select ‘Properties’. In the ‘General’ tab, change the ‘Startup type’ to ‘Automatic’ and click on ‘Start’.
   
4. Click on the ‘Dependencies’ tab, expand the ‘Remote Procedure Call (RPC)’ and check the related services. You will find two services related to the ‘Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service’. Click on ‘Ok’, return to the ‘Services’
   window.
   
5. Find the two services namely, ‘DCOM Server Process Launcher’ and ‘RPC Endpoint Mapper’. Start the services if they aren’t running and the ‘Startup type’ to automatic and click on ‘Ok’.
   
6. Please check this link to ‘Open the touch keyboard’ and check if it works
   out for you.
