  1. i can't unhide a system file

I can check or uncheck "Read-Only," but the "Hidden" attribute has a checkbox that is already checked but grayed out.and I cannot uncheck it.I can see the file that I want to unhide by not checking "hide protected operating system files."but i don't have a need for that folder option so i usually have it checkedthe file and the files path is "C:\$Recycle.Bin\S-1-5-21-1108015613-3707909792-1854786309-1001"and when I try unhiding it with cmd ran as admin, via cd "C:\$Recycle.Bin\S-1-5-21-1108015613-3707909792-1854786309-1001" then: attrib -h /s /d it says "Not resetting system file - C:\$Recyc

  2. Change file attribute to 'unhide'

    Hello Walt,

Thank you for posting your concern in Microsoft Community and welcome to the Windows 10 Family.

I suggest you to follow the below steps to change the attribute of any file/folder to unhide.

    Step A: Show Hidden files

    1. Open Windows Explorer(win logo key+E) or My computer.

    2. Now click on View on top of the window.
    3. Untick ‘Hidden items’ in the options.

    Step B: Change file attribute

    1. Once the hidden file is located, right click on the file/folder you want to change the attribute for.

    2. Go to ‘properties’, untick the box facing hidden.

    3. Now, Click on ‘apply’ and then ‘ok’.

    Hope it helps.

    Thank You.

System Drive Hidden - Unable to Unhide - Can't Boot PC - Help Please?

    Hello,

Using diskpart and list vol my hard drives display and under status they all state healthy. Volume 1 is my boot drive. Under info the boot drive is listed as hidden not system.

    I tried this:

    http://www.justreadout.com/2014/12/h...rive-from.html

And was unable to unhide the system drive though I could change the letter. I am currently unable to boot this system as the hidden system drive is not appearing under UEFI and if I choose legacy it does appear but doesn't boot.

How can I unhide the drive and make Windows recognize it as the system drive? I am able to get to a command prompt no problem, as you can see. Thank you!

  4. i can't unhide a system file

    Unable To Unhide Hidden Folders

    solved

They were marked as system files by virus so i wasnt able to see.. i enabled to view system files in options then i can see folder but yet cant unhide.

    i googled and found solution.

I tried attrib -s -h folder name & it worked for that folder. Then I tried attrib -s -h /s /d which did all the folders, sub-folders in a single go.
