Windows 10: I can't view Windows Defender history, likely due to the fact that I can't even access the...

I tried taking ownership of the Scans folder and the Windows Defender folder, using admin terminal for takeown, cacls, even using the psexec tool. Access denied every single time. I am the only user account on this PC and I am an administrator. I have always wondered why I could never see the history when viewing it from settings. Just now, windows defender detected a trojan, and before I could read the name of it, all mention of it in settings had disappeared and says no threats found. I found out it's because I have absolutely no access to these folders, not even read access. It doesn't make

Hey, what you need to do is so simple, just follow the steps below exactly in order:

1. Turn OFF Real-time Protection
2. Turn OFF Cloud-delivered Protection
3. Go to this folder C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Scans\History\Service
4. Delete the contents in the folder
5. Turn ON Real-time Protection
6. Turn ON Cloud-delivered Protection

That's it... Now check protection History, it's empty.
Done!
