Windows 10: I changed my downloads location to F:/ and now it changed into the hard drive.

I changed my downloads location from C:\Users\uprig\Downloads SSD to F:/ HDD and now the downloads became the Hard Drive. So now when i download something it downlaods it into the hard drive, not a downloads folder in F:/, its all messed up. I did this with other things by accident like Documents, Music, Pictures. When i try to change it by right clicking on it and pressing properties, it shows the propeties of the hard drive F:/.I looked up for answers in https://answers.microsoft.com/ and did these steps:Hi snci112400, this will requi

Change download folder location but still saves to original drive.

Hey all.


I changed the Download folder location from my OS Drive (C:\) to my (F:\) drive. However, even after making this change, items are still being downloaded into the C drive, and cannot be found on the folder assigned for the downloads in my F drive.


Am I missing something? The location is changed when I view the properties for the download folder, but there is still a Downloads Folder under C:\users\name\downloads that my downloads are being routed to instead. This is just a regular folder called downloads which cannot be deleted or have its location modified.

External Hard drive was changed from F: to G:

This trouble began this morning when I firsted turned on my laptop.

Do you have all the four partitions on a single hard drive?

No.

My C drive is internal to the laptop (SSD)

D drive is a recovery partition.

E drive is a WD Unlocker drive (possibly virtual?)

F drive is not displayed at all.

G drive is the former F drive External 1TB WD Passport

Do you have multiple hard drives installed on the computer?

Yes

Did you make any changes to your computer prior to the issue?

No, but I did relocate it from one site to another. The only configuration change was the addition of a monitor on the HDMI port.

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps so far?

Yes.

I unplugged the USB cable to the WD Passport drive and reconnected. It showed up again as the G drive

I Shut down and restarted. The WD Passport shows up as the G drive.

 

Changed the 'downloads' location to E-Drive. Couldn't reverse!!

But the problem is whenever I click the properties of Downloads
folder, it is showing the properties dialog box of E-drive partition. How could I solve this?
