Windows 10: I changed my mouse pointer using the instructions in the tutorial.

However, when I shut down the original windows small white arrow returns, so I have to go into settings to change it back to the one I set as my default mouse pointer. How can I fix this.

1. How did the mouse pointer icon change?

2. Was it changed automatically or did you manually change it from “Mouse properties” in Control Panel?



We can change and customize the mouse pointer icon from “Mouse Properties” in Control Panel. You may follow these steps and check if that helps.



a) Press “Windows Logo” + “X” keys on the keyboard and select “Control Panel” from the list.

b) Change the “View by” option from “Category” view to “Large icon” view.

c) Click on “Mouse” to open “Mouse Properties” window.

d) In the “Mouse Properties” window, click on “Pointer” tab.

e) Change the current scheme to “Windows Default (system Scheme)” by selecting it from the scheme drop down menu.

f) Now check if you have the default one to indicate “Busy” status under “Customize”.

g) Click on “Apply” and then “Ok”.



You may now check the mouse pointer icon.

Problem with pointer size and color settings on Windows 10.

Old title: Problem with pointer

On my laptop I changed my pointer size and colour, when I changed it back it had an older mouse pointer look, I tried for well over an hour to change it back but I couldn't do it. I went into mouse settings but there wasn't a "pointers" tab.

In windows 10, I go to setting "Ease of Access" where I can change the "cursor thickness" and i go to Pointer to change the Pointer size and color.

Are you making the changes in Control Panel, Mouse? Right-click the Start button to get to Control Panel. That's where I change all my computers as the small white pointer doesn't work as well for me on LCD/LED Flat Panel monitors. Be sure to click Apply if it's offered.
