Windows 10: I changed my windows alias to a new email from yahoo to gmail. I now have NO FILES on my...

How do I get the files back? No, I do not backup or use One Drive. And WHY did this happen with an alias change? I did not delete previous alias, just change new alias as primary.

It did bring in all of the emails in my folders from Yahoo perfectly and put them under a new heading in Gmail as L: myname@yahoo.com



However I was hoping it would also read the emails that show up (new) in my Yahoo email as they are received by Yahoo?



I decided to no longer pay the subscription price for ad free Yahoo which now includes forwarding emails. So I cannot set up forwarding anymore. I initially tried setting up an outlook.com email address with my yahoo account linked but UNLESS the email is sent directly to the @Outlook.com address it will not forward. And on occasion outlook.com shuts off the forwarding rule automatically. Strange.


Perhaps there is another webmail to try?


Why do I want to do this? Well Alexa can read emails from Gmail and Gmail only.
And I have used Yahoo for so long I do not want to change every single contact I know, subscription, sign in, etc to gmail.....

Changing Alias to Gmail

• Are you trying to change the username or email address used to sign in to your computer, or is it related to a specific application or service?
  
• Could you provide more information about the steps you're taking to change the alias and where you're encountering the message that says the Gmail address is already taken?
  

If this matches my guess, assuming you are currently adding an alias to your Gmail account, it is most likely because the alias you are trying to use is already associated with another Google account. Yahoo Conflict With Gmail POP3

I opened an account with Gmail some months ago to use their POP3 service to collate my various Yahoo and Hotmail accounts in one place. All of a sudden, about two weeks ago, I find that I am unable to send from my Yahoo email address even though they were previously working on Gmail and all are well used friends and family email addresses.
The problem happens in specific combinations, that is, sending from my Yahoo account to someone else's Yahoo account via Gmail and also it didn't work when I sent from my Yahoo, via Gmail, to my Hotmail, which I have registered to Gmail POP3. Both got bounced back.

How do I circumvent this problem and resume normal service.
