i changed the privacy settings on a windows apps so i can have acces to the files but after that i couldnt open any microsoft app but i could read the files. After i did format in order to work my WindowsApps file changed name to ModifiedWindowsApps and i cant open the files again it seems tha my windows are broken how can i fix them is there a troubleshout i could run nut without a windows app help i need somethign else. If i download a version of windows from the cloud could it be better than downloading the same from my PC cause somehow i changed the settings without knowing

How to change default app for file type

'Open With > Choose another app' has three step, in the first it only offers apps registered for that file type. If you click 'More apps' it lists all registered apps regardless of suitability. Both these steps have the tick-box for 'Always use...' in my 18363.752. The third step, if needed, is 'Look for another app on this PC'. The 'Always use...' must be ticked before taking this step if you want the change to stick. However, WMP appears at the second step.

For a quick look at a JPG almost anything (including WMP) is more practical than Photos which on my system takes more than ten seconds just to open a photo. The OP is probably not aware that the Windows Photo Viewer is still available in W10, but hidden away. That's my default viewer for JPG.

Windows 10 Settings App Search Not working

Thank you for providing some suggestions.

I performed step 1, and at the end of the test, it reported "No changes or updates are necessary."

I then performed step 2 and received the same message at the end of the test.

After running the two tests above, I opened up Settings and typed "privacy", which should show some help categories (It does on my other Windows 10 computers). However, on the one computer there is no help information. It states "No result for privacy".
It appears the Settings app help information list is empty or not found. Typing a single character, e.g., 'p', into the search box displays "No result for p".

Any further suggestions are welcome.

Is there a convenient way to have windows 10 try to repair itself without uninstalling my software and/or loosing all of my personal data.

First, I would strongly suggest filing out this report to
file a privacy issue with Facebook.

Windows Phone should use the privacy settings set on Facebook. Some steps to try to get this account back in a good state…

• Go to the
  Facebook Privacy Settings page.
• Toggle from “Friends” to “Custom” to “Public” and back again to “Friends”. The simple action of toggling the privacy settings may reset the inheritance. This may take several times for the specific settings to stick from browser and then finally sync to
  the phone.
• After each change, go to Settings > Email+Accounts, tap-and-hold Facebook and tap Sync.
  

Or, if that doesn’t work try this…

• Go to Facebook.com and log in from your PC.
• On the top-right of the page, click the downward arrow next to Home and click Account Settings.
• Click Security. Next to Secure Browsing, click Edit and deselect “Browse Facebook on a secure connection (https) when possible”.Note: this is just temporary, you can change it back after you complete the rest of the steps below.
• Go to the Windows Phone on Facebook page:
  http://apps.facebook.com/7933375107/?ref=ts. Note: it will appear like an empty page, but refresh it a number of times until…
• When you go to http://facebook.com you see the “Windows Phone” app on the left-hand sidebar under APPS.
• Click the pencil icon next to “Windows Phone” and click Edit Settings. Scroll down to “Posts on your behalf” and ensure it’s set appropriately.

OR, try this:

• On your computer (not your phone), go to:
  https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=applications.
• Click "Edit" next to "Old versions of Facebook for mobile". Make sure this is set to Friends, Custom, or Public (whatever your desired privacy state is).
