Windows 10: I cons on desktop moved from initial position

Hi,recently after booting up my PC, I noticed that some of the application icons on the desktop have moved I am wondering if it is a virus or a bug of a sort I did a full scan with Microsoft Defender but all was clean. So is it a virus?Thankyou

Auto arrange icons option, and then disabling it to see if the issue will persist. To do this follow these steps:

• Go to the Desktop screen, and then right click anywhere.
• Hover your mouse on View.
• Select Auto arrange icons.
• Restart the computer.
• After restarting the computer, check if your Desktop icons are still in the right position after clicking the
  Auto arrange icons option.
• If your Desktop icons are in the right position, repeat steps 1-3 to disable the
  Auto arrange icons option.
  
• Customize the position of your Desktop icons.
• Restart the computer.
• After restarting the computer, check if the issue will occur.

• On you your desktop, right click or press and hold Shift+F10.
• Click View.
• Click Auto arrange to check (on) or uncheck (off).

Desktop icons

Greg,

I deleted IconCache but when I went to see if it worked by moving an icon on my desktop and then right clicked to refresh, the icon did not move back. It seems like there is a step missing where I need to save the positions of the icons on my desktop. Any
other suggestions?
