    i copied jpgs from my cell phone to my sd card to my laptop. same laptop i used before


    windows 10 is my platform on the laptop. i am using the same SD card i used in my lg shine. but new cell phone. on the cell phone, the jpgs show as thumbnails. not an issue. downloaded smart switch to transfer photos on phone to my sd card. and as i've done many times before, put it into my laptop and copied the photos and videos to my picture folder.


    i get icons. when i rightclick to select thumbnails -- not an option; only share or choose device to open....


    when i went to the file explorer and followed instructions to reset the icons -- and applied that choice, it did not change these jpgs. they ARE photos.


    so i tried the next option provided in the previous Q&A which was to run the library restore default. did not change this.


    i am still only given the option of selecting sharing which i do not wish to do or choose the application to open.


    when i select photos -- i get a program which does not recognize the jpgs as photos.


    ???? and using paint, explorer or another browser isn't a reasonable option as i need to go through these photos rapidly and it takes several minutes.


    suggestions?

    copying 216,452 files , 17453 folders to sd card, doesn't match Laptop

    Hi,

    For several yrs I've been using Teracopy on W7 to copy/move lg amounts of files as laptop backup to a 250gb SD card with no problems. By no problems I mean when I finished & using "properties" the # of files matched on the SD & Laptop.

    In W10 I did not use Teracopy just the W10 copy process and I repeatedly got some strange results:

    Files on Laptop: 159 GB, 238,738 files, 19,862 folders.
    Files copied to SD card: 141 GB, 216-452 files, 17,453 folders.
    Where did I go wrong?

    Using an SD card to install?


    OK I just made a bootable SD card with Windows 10 Enterprise TP. I made it in the USB card reader on my desktop PC. My laptop will boot from it just like a bootable thumb drive. If I take the SD card out and put it in my laptops built in card reader, nada. It's not listed as a bootable device in the quick boot menu. Being a laptop there isn't much in the way of boot options. Not like you'd see on a desktop PC.
