Windows 10: i created a html document in notepad with a html extension, i'm not able to find it

i created a html document in notepad with a html extension probably half a month ago, when i tried to search upon that file i'm not able to find it please help it was efforts of 4 months. i tried to search with every file name i knew but was failed, everytime i searched it in my file manager it showed the output file on chrome i.e. the result of coding.

Notepad won't save as html

Hi Caryl,

Are you actually typing HTML code into Notepad?

Or are you typing text into Notepad and expecting Notepad to convert it to HTML?

Hi Dachshund_Decals, I am Paulo and I'd like to help.

Try to save the file with quotation marks and see if it works as a workaround. Let's say you press Ctrl + Shift + S to Save As, enter the file name as "index.html" with the quotation marks. When you include the quotes, Notepad will save the file with the index.html name literally, without adding any additional extensions. The file will still be saved as .HTML even without changing the Save as type to All files.

When I save the WordPad file as "all file types" it is supposed to save with the file extension of "HTML"; however the file type listed in the folder is "Text Document" - which can't be read as HTML.
