  2. Eric-Kell Win User

    Duplicate User folder.

I moved my default Pictures, Documents, Music folders to a new Data partition (D).

My Users/myName folder remained on the C partition.

Everything was fine for 2 years.

For some reason this myName folder is now duplicated on the D partition (D\myName)

I have now a default documents folder in

    • D\Documents
    • D\myName\Documents
    • Onedrive\Documents
    • C\Users\myName\Documents
The same with the other system folders.

I can not change the location of the folders in the 2 duplicate user folders.

Rightclicking in properties, there is no location option.

Only the folders in OneDrive and the D partition have this option.

    Any ideas?

  3. c:\users\myname\allmyfiles\subfiles\whatever.

No it is not, for these reasons:

    • You will not be able to delete your profile folder while logged on.
    • If you were to delete it by some other means then your account will be crippled at the next logon because Windows will be looking for the original profile folder which no longer exists.

  4. I delete the 'My Documents' folder in "C:User:MyName::"

    c:\users\myname\allmyfiles\subfiles\whatever.

    Here goes.

I go to Windows (CI delete the 'My Documents' folder in "C:User:MyName::" :)

where there are lots of folders.

    one folder is Users

I make a new folder and call it Usersnew

then I make a new sub folder of usersnew called "newname"

then copy everything in "myname" subfolder under users sub folder to "newname"

    and maybe copy desktop links

then delete Users folder and rename Usersnew folder to Users folder.

    Is this kind of correct?

    Thanks
