Windows 10: I deleted many old OS folders by renaming to Windows.old but not storage space has been...

I have an SSD named say X. It had Windows 10 and my personal stuff. Then I bought another SSD say Y and installed Windows 11 on it. Then I disabled Windows 10 in boot using msconfig.Now that I didn't need old OS and its files in drive X, I manually deleted main folders like Program Files and Windows by renaming them to Windows.old and using Disk Cleanup. It appeared it removed them but I still see same used and free space in drive X.The used sapce is 281GB, but it should actually be around 225GB that is the actual space consumed by my personal files.Of course I can backup my personal stuff

How can the previous version of Windows be deleted after an update? "2.06 GB free of 27.7 GB" means the computer is running low on storage space. Old Windows locks up 11.1 GB in 21,312 folders containing 100,925 files. This action was suggested by Windows
10 after the update was installed. But how to proceed was not explained, and Old Windows defends itself from being deleted.

 

Delete 16G windows old folder to save space

Hi, I am trying to delete the 16G windows old folder. permissions, are granted, for all and the one user has full control. I have rebooted and checked that all control for every listed user, administrator is in place. When I try to delete WINDOWS OLD access is denied as I need permission. What more can I do? Please help

 

How do I delete old Windows folders???

Okay this is a hard question because I have been trying to do this for a while. I have two old Windows folders - 40 gig of wasted space. Here's what I have done: 1. renamed them 2. tried many times to delete them (or some of them). 3. removed "trusted installer" as the owner and gave it to me 4. placed my user id and "users" as the only two that could do anything with the folders and given both all functions. The result is that Windows says I have to get permission from me to delete the folders. Suggestions please?
