Windows 10: I didn't realise how slow Exploder.exe was until I "upgraded" my main desktops from 8.1. Is...

It takes anything up to 3/4 of a second for the Explorer jumplist to show on taskbar for example, when in 8.1 it was as near immediate for me not to notice this.

Everything, Explorer-wise, seems to take longer. Opening folders. Opening new windows. Right clicking on drives and folders. It's a serious impact on my productivity.

I didn't really notice this aspect in 10 before because I'd only used it on my laptops (which aren't used that often), all of which came with 10 and I thought, well, they were the speed they were. It's only when I've actually seen the change on the machines that I hammer on every day that I'm starting to see how bad this is.

We're not talking slow machines as such - the slowest machine I'm referencing (and it does feel genuinely slow in 10) is an E5-2643V3 with 64Gb of RAM, an SM951 (NVMe) / 850 Evo 2Tb (SATA) setup and a Quadro P5000.

But the general slowness isn't anywhere near the most egregious issue - the biggest problem is often when opening new This PC windows, it'll just hang there.

e.g. on that slowest machine, it'll often hang on This PC window until I close and reopen it in frustration, or I leave it for like 10-20 seconds. On that window there are two internal drives, two optical drives, a DNLA network device, and two mapped drives to a 10GbE NAS - and this window opened immediately under 8.1 with no change in the internal drives and connected devices.

What could I do (if anything) to speed Explorer up?

Notification didn´t appear

Windows 10 has ben released for 1 day and a half,and I didn´t get the notification for installing.I reserved it.Can anyone help me?

PS I am running Windows 7 and it´s up to date.

I have the same problem, but I have tried Windows Phone 8 app for desktop and all other ways, but it didn`t work for me.

I tried to connect it to Windows 7 and 8, but it didn`t help.

The device is listed in device list, but no drivers and no way to see the content.
