i disabled csm on my pc without making a backup and cant get into windows anymore and now i get this C:\Windows\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt

Why cant I cant disable csm even though I have gpt on?

1. Check BIOS Version and Update if Necessary: A BIOS update can sometimes resolve issues with settings not being saved or applied correctly. Check your motherboard manufacturer's website for any BIOS updates that might address this issue.
   
2. Ensure GPT Partition Style: Since Secure Boot usually requires the disk to be in GPT format and the system to boot in UEFI mode, ensure your disk is indeed using GPT. You mentioned having a GPT disk, but it's worth double-checking. Tools like Disk Management in Windows or the diskpart utility can confirm this.
   
3. Disable CSM Correctly: Depending on your motherboard, the process to disable CSM might vary. Ensure you're following the correct steps for your specific motherboard model. Sometimes, other settings in the BIOS need to be adjusted before CSM can be disabled.

Cannot disable CSM to enable Secure Boot

Winver. 22H2 19045.3208 Hi there, I am having difficulty in enabling Secure Boot even when it is supported with my motherboard on the ASUS website. I was made aware of this by using the PC Health app:

After a bit of research, CSM being enabled in the BIOS can be a reason why Secure Boot is showing up as Unsupported on my msinfo32 report:

However, I cannot disable CSM on my pc as it does not boot Windows 10 after the change, meaning that either something in my pc does not have a UEFI driver or that it is due to my primary disk being MBR and not GPT (according to research). Any help with potential fixes or suggestions is much appreciated, thank you

 

Stuck on Aptio setup and launch CSM is disabled

We understand your concern and in order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below.

• When you say, “I am stuck on Aptio setup utility” are you able to boot the computer to Desktop?
  
• What is the make and model of the laptop?
• What is the Windows 10 version and Build installed? (Type winver in Windows search/Run command)

In the meantime, I suggest you to refer the troubleshooting steps mentioned below and see if that helps in resolving the issue:

1. Boot your computer up and wait for it to boot into the Aptio Setup Utility.
   
2. Once in the Aptio Setup Utility, navigate to the
   Security
   
3. Expand the Secure Boot menu
   section and disable Secure Boot.
   
4. Navigate to the Save & Exit
   tab, save your changes, exit the Aptio Setup Utility,
   restart your computer and wait for it to boot into the utility once again.
   
5. Navigate to the Boot
   
   
6. Disable Secure Boot and Fast Boot
   
7. Enable CSM (Compatibility Support Module).
   
8. Navigate to the Save & Exit
   tab, save your changes, exit
