I disabled some of the services from startup after going in msconfig and now not able to login. Now whenever I restart my pc it says "Something happened and your PIN isn't available. Click to set up your PIN again." When I click Set up my PIN nothing is happening. Sometimes a pop up appears and ask me to look for some app on app store and I select YES but even then nothing happens. I watched some YouTube videos and read some forums but I am not able to solve the login issue. My laptop's model is MSI modern 15. The bios setting is pretty much basic. I guess my laptop doesn't have TPM chip so I a

  2. Disabled all msconfig services by accident and cannot login

I was having issues updating an app so I followed these instructions but I skipped the "hide all" step

    Press Windows Key+R.

    • Type msconfig and press Enter.
    • Select Selective startup and uncheck Load startup items.
    • Select the Services tab.
    • Check Hide all Microsoft services.
Note: Skipping this step may prevent your computer from rebooting correctly.
    • Click Disable all.
    • Click Apply then click OK.
    • Click Restart.
When I restarted my PC it said "something happened and your pin isn't available". I tried to go to troubleshoot to fix the issue but, whenever I go to fix startup settings it says to choose and account and type the password. Whenever I type my correct password it says it's incorrect. I'm not sure what to do and extremely stressed. Please someone help me, I can't afford to reset my PC as I have important files on it that I cannot lose.

  3. Elbern Win User
msconfig, disable all services, break lfsvc (geoloc)

I answer to my previous message:

I provided name lsvc instead of lfsvc, and i created like an idiot a service named lsvc and i had to delete it manually.

Ok about the previous step it worked for me, but for a reason or another, even if all services are selected, i won't be able anymore to select normal boot from msconfig.

    Last edit for this message:

I tryed all ms config fixed found on the web, i enabled all startup item with ctrl alt del,

tryed disable a service temporary then activate all services again, msconfig say it's normal boot and will restart, but next startup, it's on selective startup.

    Disabled msconfig services can't login

Whenever I type my correct password it says it's incorrect. I'm not sure what to do and I'm extremely stressed.

Later I tried this method from a YouTube video. I had to boot with a usb disc and press shift+f10. Then I typed the commands

    D:\cd windows

    D:\cd Windows> cd system32

    D:\Windows\System32>move Utilman.exe utilman.exe.bak

    D:\Windows\System32>copy cmd.exe Utilman.exe

    Exit

After I was suppose to restart and click the accessibility tool icon and it would open CMD. But, NOTHING HAPPENED. I'm so confused what I did and don't know how I can reverse it. I managed to be able to get the password working but, it keeps saying it's incorrect when I know it's the correct password. Am I supposed to be connected to ethernet? Please can anyone help me please. I just need instructions on what to do if anything. I can't afford to reset my PC, I have too many important files that I cannot afford to lose. Please I'm so lost
