Windows 10: I do not see my iMac on the Network

    I do not see my iMac on the Network


    When I click Network in the Internet Explorer, I do not see my iMac. However, if I enter into Run, "MY-IMAC", the shared files appear. The WorkGroup is set the same for both computers and I have the IP for the iMac set in both WINS 192.168.1.2. No doubt, I'm missing some setting.

    My pc computer shows up on the network but not my imac computer.

    How can I get my network see my imac computer?

    connecting to my Imac thru LAN

    On my home network I have my Windows 10 laptop and my Imac desktop computers. I have no problem accessing my Windows laptop from my Mac. But for some reason, my Windows 10 laptop refuses to allow me to access files on my Imac. I have used the correct
    password each time, but it tells me NO. I can even see the Imac in the network list. What am I doing wrong??

    Did our Epson printer get hacked?

    Another question, is this on a home network or a work network? The steps @eidairaman1 listed are always a good first step. If this is on a work network you manage, I'd be much more concerned than the home one. It is possible someone is screwing with you, but malware could also be the culprit.
